  1. Opening Statement.

  2. Minutes of the Last Meeting in Tokyo, May 2006.

  3. Comments / Questions on Minutes, if not covered on Main Agenda.

  4. Equine Diseases : March 2006 – January 2008.

    1. Report from Dr Strickland on the previous day’s Veterinary Delegates’ Meeting.

    2. A specific and brief report on Equine Influenza outbreak in Australia and the movement restrictions imposed.

  5. Detection of Sterilized Entire Horses.

  6. A paper will be circulated with the Agenda.

  7. International Collating Centre.

    1. Mr Greenwood (GB) to report on ICC’s work since the Tokyo Meeting.

    2. Mr Greenwood to report on ICC financial position. To agree fees to be paid.

  8. Bloodstock Industry Code of Practice – Sales Integrity Task Force Recommendations.

  9. A paper will be circulated prior to the Meeting.

    1. Mr Dan Metzger (USA) to introduce this topic.

    2. Each country to report progress, if any.

  10. Foaling Dates.

    1. Reports of foaling dates / stud season start date in all Southern Hemisphere countries.

    2. Reaction to changes from the European Federation of TBAs and the US Stud Book.

    3. Papers / press cuttings will be circulated prior to the Meeting.

  11. Use of Medications in Equines.

    1. The Threat of Withdrawal of Therapeutic Drugs in Europe.

    2. Update from Mr Hernon (Ireland) and Mr Greenwood.

    3. Regulation of Steroids in US Racing. A paper will be circulated prior to the Meeting. Mr Metzger to report.

    4. North American Graded Races permitting runners whilst on medication are still included in the Pattern. Other countries (particularly Europe) apply a zero-tolerance attitude towards racing on medication. How do we level the playing field?

    To be introduced by the TBA (GB).

  12. Reinforcement of a Stallion’s Natural Cover / Natural Gestation.

  13. A letter from the International Stud Book Committee will be circulated prior to the Meeting.

  14. Overproduction of Thoroughbreds, particularly in Europe and the USA.

    1. What practical measures can be taken?

    2. How does European Union and other current (competition) legislation affect the issue?

    This topic has been introduced the TBA (GB).

  15. Stud Book Fees.

  16. Mr Michael Ford, Australia Stud Book, will address the Meeting on how to keep the fees down.

  17. Number of Mares / Foals Born.

  18. Details will be circulated prior to the Meeting. To comment.

  19. Future Expansion of the IBM.

    1. Financial position as at 31st January 2008.

    2. Future contributions to fund the Secretariat.

    3. Future of the Secretariat.

  20. Date and Place of Future Meetings.

    1. Canada has agreed to host a Meeting in 2009. Report from Mr Wilson.

    2. To discuss and agree hosts for future Meetings.

  21. Any Other Business.

  22. The Breeding Business in Chile – a report from Mr Marcel Zarour.

    2. The spread of its vector to north of the Atlas Mountains and into Europe. Advice to TB breeders. To be introduced by TBA (GB).

  4. Contagious Equine Metritis – Current situation in 2007 / First International CEM Conference. Report from Dr H P Meier.
